Cleveland R&R Hall of Fame DVD show 9/28/04

I can't believe no one has reviewed this yet, so I'll be glad to. FANTASTIC!!! (as usual). Dickey and his band of very, very talented mucisians played for over 3 hours. They played everything you'd expect and more. Dickey, and Great Southern, have performed different versions of his classic tunes every time I've see them (which I love), but on this night he seemed to stick closer to the original recorded versions. For the DVD they were recording, maybe? who knows, who cares. They just sounded more like the ABB than usual, which is cool to hear from time to time. One of the many highlights was "Southbound" (one of my favorites) done like the original. Dickey's son Duane joined him onstage for this probably 20 minute song and sounded pretty darn good. Don't get me wrong, they still jammed and improvised on most everything, (the way they always do). Everyone sounded great, and in the R&R Hall of fame to boot. It doesn't get any better than that.

Yeah, the DVD was great! Duane Betts can really play too - some great jams with Dickey. Hope to hear more of him soon! Great sound quality, good set selection, great musicians, all in all a great concert!! My only complaint - the bozo who made up the subject headings for the interview portion can't spell Berry's name, and calls the one song "Nobody left to turn to". Must've been some Brown Bottle flu or something? Definitely a dvd for the collecion!!
